Peptide Reconstitution Calculator

Reconstituting a lyophilized peptide for research? Enter the amount in the vial, the bacteriostatic water you’re adding, and your target dose. The calculator returns the concentration, the exact line to draw to on a U-100 insulin syringe, and how many doses each vial yields.

Reconstitution calculator

Work out concentration, draw volume, and doses per vial. For laboratory research planning only.

ml
—Concentration (mg/ml)
—Draw to this line (IU on a U-100 syringe)
—Doses per vial

How to read it: on a standard U-100 insulin syringe, 100 IU = 1 ml. The middle figure is the line to draw to. Always confirm against your own protocol.

How to reconstitute a research peptide

  1. Bring vials to room temperature. Let the lyophilized peptide vial and your bacteriostatic water sit until they reach room temperature.
  2. Add the water slowly. Draw your chosen volume of bacteriostatic water and let it run gently down the inside wall of the vial — never inject it directly onto the powder.
  3. Swirl, don’t shake. Gently swirl or roll the vial until fully dissolved. Shaking can damage the peptide.
  4. Store correctly. Refrigerate the reconstituted vial at 2–8°C and use within its stable window. Store unreconstituted vials below 25°C, away from light.

Reading the result

On a standard U-100 insulin syringe, the barrel is marked 0–100 “units” (IU), where 100 IU equals 1 ml. The calculator’s middle figure is the unit line to draw to for your target dose at the concentration you mixed. Halving the bacteriostatic water doubles the concentration and halves the draw volume — useful when you want smaller, more precise draws.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does the peptide reconstitution calculator do?

It converts vial mass, bacteriostatic water volume, and target research dose into concentration (mg/mL) and U-100 syringe units for lab planning.

Which water should I use to reconstitute peptides?

Bacteriostatic water (0.9% benzyl alcohol) is standard for multi-dose lab vials; sterile water may be used for single-use preparations per your protocol.

Is this calculator medical dosing advice?

No. It is a laboratory planning aid only. All peptides are for research use —

Where can I buy bacteriostatic water in Canada?

Nuvion stocks bacteriostatic water 30mL for reconstitution alongside peptide vials with COA.
